After the hustle and bustle of Day 1 the dust has settled and we’re getting ready for the first full day of horror! Friday at FrightFest brings some cool new talent to the genre, John Farrelly’s An Taibhse (The Ghost) is the first ever Irish language horror movie whilst if you look further ahead in the day it also has the return of a horror movie legend, Buddy Cooper has finally delivered Mutilator 2!
The Discovery Screens also contain some fresh and returning talent. Aurélia Mengin’s Scarlet Blue is a challenging visual feast of fear which is juxtaposed by Graham Skipper’s The Lonely Man With The Ghost Machine which is a bleak yet heartfelt look at loss and regret. Both movies shine in their own sub-genres.
Another must see is Jeff Daniel Phillips’ road movie to hell Cursed in Baja which delivers an intense rush of terror, but if you want a touch of sci-fi to your terror Drive Back is the movie for you today. Whatever you got and see let us know what you think.
